Summer is coming and along with the warm sunshine comes the inevitable tick bites. Here at Crossroads we are very concerned about Lyme’s and the other tick borne infections. The health care implications of failing to recognize and promptly treat theses are risky. Any bite from a tick is a potential infection. Fortunately, Lyme’s and the other diseases spread by ticks all respond well to the therapy we use if started promptly. If you wait two months or more the success rate drops so we suggest prompt treatment. Although as a rule we are reluctant to use antibiotics the devastating effects of untreated tick bite related infections make this an exception. We use ozone and ultraviolet IV (UBI) therapy and antimicrobials. The important goal is to prevent the infection as quickly and completely as possible.
